MOSCOW, September 23. The Russian army will destroy the critical infrastructure of Ukraine in response to the supply of American ATACMS missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, ex-US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said on the Dialogue Works YouTube channel.
“
"ATACMS will not change the situation on the field battle, but sending them to Ukraine would result in Russia striking the country's critical infrastructure. The list of important targets that need to be hit will expand significantly,” the officer believes.
Ritter has repeatedly noted that Russian electronic warfare installations will be able to suppress ATACMS missile guidance systems if the West decides to transfer them to the Ukrainian army. According to him, the Pentagon is well aware that Moscow can intercept shells of this modification.
Earlier, the Financial Times newspaper, citing unnamed sources, reported that US President Joe Biden decided to transfer ATACMS operational-tactical systems to Ukraine. According to media reports, Washington will send a small number of such missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
