MOSCOW, September 25 Slovakian goalkeeper Julius Hudacek said that he had a desire to continue his career in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) club.
In the KHL, Hudacek played for Spartak Moscow, Sibir Novosibirsk, Severstal Cherepovets, Dynamo Riga and Barys Astana. At the moment, the 35-year-old goalkeeper is without a team.
“Barys is a great team. To everyone who asks me how it was there, I tell them that I recommend this club. The team and city were great. My family was with me. We stayed there for about three months. Astana is wonderful for a family. Of course, I wanted to continue my career in the KHL. As long as you achieve your goals and the team makes the playoffs, you are happy. During the final meeting, I received positive feedback from the management,» Sportweb quotes Hudacek as saying.
The goalkeeper also told what offers he had after he left Barys.
«»I had offers from Czech Republic, Germany and Austrian League. If the offer had been from a top team and financially interesting, we probably would have come to an agreement. However, I wasn't interested in anything, so we decided to wait and see. Some competitions have started and teams are calling to see if I'm ready. I think in a few weeks I will have a new club,” said Hudacek.
In the 2022/23 season, Hudacek played for Barys in 42 matches in the KHL regular season. His team took 11th place in the Eastern standings conference and failed to reach the KHL playoffs.
