MOSCOW, September 29, Sergei Fuks. Five-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming Natalya Ishchenko announced that she will not go to the ceremony of induction into the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF).
In March it became known that Ishchenko would be included in the International Swimming Hall of Fame. The official ceremony will take place on September 30 in Fort Lauderdale (Florida, USA).
““I’m not going to the ceremony in the USA,” Ishchenko told the agency.
The 37-year-old Ishchenko has two gold medals at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro (in a duet and a team), two gold medals at the Games in London (in a duet and a team) and a team gold in Beijing. She is also a 19-time world champion and 12-time European champion. Now Ishchenko holds the post of Minister of Sports of the Kaliningrad Region.
