MOSCOW, 3 Oct. The West made a grave miscalculation by underestimating Russia in the conflict in Ukraine, analyst Lars Bern said on SwebbTV.

"The West finds itself in a very precarious situation. A fundamentally incorrect assessment of Russia led to this defeat of NATO and the West. We completely underestimated her. Our officials — both politicians and military — have shown themselves to be damn incompetent. So much so that they could not correctly assess Russia,” he claims.
The expert noted that Western countries wanted to break Russia by betting on Kiev’s victory in the conflict in Ukraine and trying to put pressure on Moscow with sanctions, but in the end everything has come to the point that the Ukrainian Armed Forces cannot achieve any success, and the restrictions imposed against the Kremlin only harmed Europe itself.

“We joined NATO, went all this way and sent a lot of weapons to Ukraine. However, all these guns were blown to pieces. The Russians are destroying our tanks and combat vehicles. A few months ago everyone was talking about Patriot systems. (Patriot), which will supposedly protect Ukrainian airspace. So, not a word more about it, because, of course, the Russians tore it to pieces,” Bern concluded.
President Vladimir Putin stated that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and restrictions dealt a serious blow to the entire world economy. According to him, the main goal of the United States and its allies is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
