KAZAN, October 6 Police detained in Bugulma three suspects in arson of a relay cabinet on railway tracks in Tatarstan, the transport department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volga Federal District reported.
Earlier, the Kuibyshev Railway reported that on October 5, a fire was recorded in a relay cabinet in the area of the Bugulma station due to “interference by unauthorized persons in the operation of railway transport.” The incident did not affect the movement of passenger trains.
“Employees of the Kazan Line Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Transport, together with colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, detained three local residents involved in the arson of railway equipment,” the report says. The police established that the cabinet was set on fire, the seal and padlock were broken, and there were charred wires inside. Three suspects in the arson were identified, one of whom, a minor, turned out to be the organizer of the crime.
«It has been previously established that a 16-year-old attacker found an advertisement in one of the messengers with an offer to earn money. Having become interested in the offer, he received an order from an anonymous employer to set fire to railway equipment. After which he was recruited to commit unlawful actions of two of his adult acquaintances,” the department clarifies.
In connection with this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under the article “Terrorist Act”, threatening up to 20 years in prison.
