YEKATERINBURG, October 24 A criminal case under article of negligence was opened after the death of a girl who was injured on a slide in a kindergarten in Yekaterinburg, the press service of the regional prosecutor's office reported.
In municipal kindergarten No. 180 of Yekaterinburg on January 25, during a daytime walk while sliding down a slide, a three-year-old pupil got stuck in a fence and, as law enforcement agencies previously noted, while trying to free herself, her scarf got caught on the structure, and then lost consciousness. When the children gathered together in a group, the teacher did not immediately notice the girl’s absence. Later, when the woman discovered the pupil, she pulled her out of the slide, brought her into the group, and called an ambulance. Doctors fought for the child for a week, but they could not save him; the girl died in intensive care.
A criminal case was opened for causing death by negligence due to improper performance by a person of his professional duties.
Following the incident, the prosecutor's office of the Kirov district of Yekaterinburg checked the kindergarten officials' compliance with federal legislation and found that, in violation of its norms, a constant visual inspection of play structures was not carried out and a check was not carried out for the presence of components equipment parts.
«The girl crawled between the floor elements of a children's play complex, which did not meet safety requirements due to the lack of a component — a beam, and got her head stuck there, hanging in a vertical position, from which she could not get out on her own. The prosecutor's office sent the materials to the investigative authorities…, according to the results consideration of which a criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence resulting in the death of a person through negligence),” follows from the message.
As the Investigative Committee added to journalists, now in a criminal case of negligence, all the circumstances of the crime and the persons who will be held accountable are being established, and the evidence base is being collected and consolidated. The investigation into the case of causing death by negligence is at the final stage.
