
YEKATERINBURG, October 24 Five schoolchildren in Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region, fell ill with ringworm (microsporia), the press service of the regional Ministry of Health told reporters.
On Tuesday, in Ekaterinburg Telegram channels, with reference to letters from local residents, information spread that at school No. 1 in Pervouralsk, about 120 students allegedly fell ill with ringworm; the authors of the channels associated the incident with problems with hot water supply in the city.

«»At school No. 1 in Pervouralsk, five children with microsporia out of two were identified families. They study in different classes, in each of which quarantine has been introduced. Information about a larger number of cases (129) is fake,» the message says.
Ringworm or microsporia is a fungal disease that affects the skin, hair and nail plates; as a rule, a person becomes infected through contact with infected animals or objects with their fur on them.
