Human rights activist Lev Ponomarev was fined 50 thousand rubles for failure to provide a report on the activities of a “foreign agent”

The Khoroshevsky District Court of Moscow fined human rights activist Lev Ponomarev 50 thousand rubles, reports the joint press service of the capital's courts.

Ponomarev was found guilty of failure to provide a report on the activities of a “foreign agent” (Part 2 of Article 19.34 of the Administrative Code) . His case was submitted to the court on October 18.

“The accused did not submit to the authorized body information, the submission of which is provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents,” the court said in a statement.

To the registry “foreign agents” Ponomarev was introduced in December 2020. He also led two human rights organizations — “For Human Rights” and “Hotline” — which were subsequently liquidated by court order.
