MOSCOW, November 8. The system of international payments will completely change over the next three to five years, including through the development of digital currencies, follows from the statement of the first deputy chairman of the Bank Russia by Olga Skorobogatova.
““On the horizon of three to five years, the system of international payments will be different,” she said, speaking at the Finopolis-2023 financial technology forum.
Skorobogatova added that her forecasts are shared by the representative of the Central Bank of the UAE Saif Humaid Al-Dhaheri, who is participating in the forum.
“By doing the “digital ruble” project, of course, we also assume that thanks to the digital ruble we will be able to build a new cross-border system,” she also noted.
On August 1, the main provisions of the law came into force in Russia, establishing the legal norms for the introduction of a digital ruble in the country. The use of the digital ruble in real transactions began on August 15.
