Resident of Germany of Russian origin, self-proclaimed admirer of Joseph Stalin, died after holding off a police assault for 35 hours by barricading himself in his home. This was reported by Bild.
“On Sunday night at 00:30 (02:30 Moscow time) police found him dead in the attic of the house. A doctor called to the scene confirmed his death,” the press reported. -Police Secretary Kerstin Schröder.
It remains unclear whether the man died from police action or committed suicide.
The siege at the house began on Friday after the district court decided to take away custody of the children from the man. Evgeniy V., who lived in the village of Firitz in Brandenburg with his wife, brother and three children, opened fire when the police approached his house. However, none of the security forces were injured.
The publication claims that the man threatened to blow up his house. During the confrontation, his brother first left the building and was then detained. On Saturday, Evgeniy’s wife and one of the children were able to leave the house. Apparently, the other children were not in the house at the time.
