Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine Kirill Budanov did not rule out the fact that Moscow and Kiev will not conclude a peace treaty after the end of hostilities, and a legal settlement could drag on for decades.
«There are cases in history when long-standing wars between states have not been legally completed,” Budanov said.
As an example, he cited Russia and Japan, which since 1945 have still not concluded a peace treaty due to the fact that Tokyo has claims in the matter southern Kuril Islands. The head of Ukrainian intelligence recalled that this problem is more than 70 years old. In this regard, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate did not rule out that something similar could happen between Moscow and Kiev.
