SIMFEROPOL, November 16 In Kherson, temporarily under the control of the Ukrainian authorities, a humanitarian catastrophe has developed, everyone who was able to left the city, said Russian Senator from the Kherson region Igor Kastyukevich.
“”Now everything is very, very bad there. In fact, there is a humanitarian catastrophe there. People from there write that they were left without food, water, medical and other types of assistance. The electricity is turned off every now and then, and even the residents there was almost nothing left in Kherson. Everyone who could left,” said Kastyukevich.
According to him, the old people and people with limited mobility are actually left in the city.
“But these are our people, and I know that they are really looking forward to our return. The return of Russia to the Russian city of Kherson,” the senator emphasized.
The Kherson region became a subject of the Russian Federation following the results of a referendum held in September 2022. At the same time, the Ukrainian side does not recognize its legitimacy and continues to shell the territory of the region. Today, 75% of the territory of the Kherson region is under Russian control, and the part on the right bank of the Dnieper, including Kherson, is controlled by the Kiev authorities.
