MOSCOW, November 30 Senator from the Nizhny Novgorod region Vladimir Lebedev died from a heart attack, said the head of the Federation Council Committee on Regulations Vyacheslav Timchenko.
Earlier on Thursday, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, announced that Lebedev, a senator from the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, died at the age of 62.
“Vladimir Lebedev died from a heart attack. He will be buried in Nizhny Novgorod on Saturday or Sunday – when his relatives decide,” Timchenko said.
According to the legislator, Lebedev “was a statesman, defended the interests of his region,” was worried about Russia and, while working in the Federation Council Committee on agricultural policy and environmental management, defended the interests of farmers, Timchenko concluded.
