VELIKIY NOVGOROD, December 5 In the Novgorod region, a case of measles in a child was registered after he returned from a trip, reports Rospotrebnadzor for the region.
«In the Novgorod region, a case of a child contracting measles was registered after contact with a measles patient when traveling outside the Novgorod region. The child was not vaccinated against measles due to not reaching the vaccination age,» the message says.
It is clarified that the sick child was hospitalized, unvaccinated contact persons were vaccinated, and are now being monitored medically. As the chief infectious disease specialist of the region, Svetlana Kalach, explained, the Novgorod region became the 76th region where a measles patient was discovered. The sick person arrived from the territory of the North Caucasus.
