MOSCOW, December 4 Russia as future chairman BRICS intends to help increase the role of the organization in resolving current issues on the global agenda, make efforts to strengthen a comprehensive strategic partnership within the BRICS framework, develop interaction in economic, financial and other spheres, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
«In the coming 2024, Russia We have a number of important foreign policy functions to perform. We were the first to chair the enlarged BRICS association, and we will do everything possible to help the new members of the association harmoniously integrate into the operating mode of this organization. In general, we intend to do our best to enhance the role of the association in resolving pressing issues global agenda, make efforts to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership within the BRICS, develop interaction in the economic, financial and other spheres,” Putin said during the ceremony of presenting his credentials in the Kremlin.
Putin added that Russia will seriously prepare for holding the BRICS summit in Kazan in October 2024 in a new, broader composition. The head of state also recalled that BRICS sports games will be held in Kazan in the summer.
