MOSCOW, December 4 Norwegian athlete Ken Stornes, competing in amateur cliff diving competition, he updated his world record by jumping into the water from a 40-meter height.
Stornes posted a video of the jump on his Instagram account*. A Norwegian who calls himself “the last Viking” jumped from a cliff at a height of 40.5 meters.
Stornes performed a record jump in winter conditions, diving into icy water wearing only his swimming trunks. Before the jump, he threw a stone to break through the ice.
Stornes set the previous record in the summer of 2021, jumping from a height of 31.3 meters.
Professional high divers, competing in a discipline recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), jump into water from a height of 20-27 meters.
