Rosfinmonitoring edited data about the politician Alexei Navalny and his associates in the register of extremists and terrorists. The Telegram channel “Updating the list of extremists and terrorists” reports that they were marked as “involved in terrorism.”
Asterisks (*) appeared next to the names of Alexei Navalny, Leonid Volkov and Ivan Zhdanov. This is how people involved in terrorism cases are marked. In addition, the head of the FBK sociological service, Anna Biryukova, was included in the register with an asterisk.
Navalny, Volkov and Zhdanov were added to the list of extremists and terrorists in January 2022. A few months earlier, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against the oppositionists for leading an extremist community (Part 1, Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code). In the fall of 2022, Navalny reported that a criminal case had been opened against him and his associates for calls for terrorism (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code).
In addition, the FSB claims that Darya Trepova, accused of murdering military commander Vladlen Tatarsky, committed the bombing because of calls from Ivan Zhdanov and Leonid Volkov.
