MOSCOW, December 7 The Russian Ministry of Economic Development maintains the inflation estimate of 7.5% for 2023, it told reporters on the sidelines of the investment forum “Russia is Calling!” Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov.

The Ministry of Economic Development forecasts inflation in 2023 at 7.5%, the Bank of Russia — in the range of 7-7.5%.
Speaking during the plenary session of the forum, Reshetnikov noted that inflation in Russia is above the Central Bank target of 4%, but the base one is not so high.
«Inflation, yes, it is, of course, higher than the targets and so on, but the base inflation, if we remove all kinds of fruits and vegetables, gasoline, etc., it 5.5% (in annual terms in October — ed.). But in general, it has been growing, unfortunately, in recent months, but not so critically,» the minister said.
According to the latest data from Rosstat, weekly inflation in the Russian Federation from November 28 to December 4 slowed to 0.12% from 0.33% a week earlier; since the beginning of the year, consumer prices have increased by 6.79%.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development, as of December 4, inflation in annual terms amounted to 7.52%.
