Google was fined four million rubles for refusing to remove a video from YouTube about the losses of the Russian army in Ukraine

The acting magistrate judge of court district No. 422 of the Tagansky district of Moscow, Alexandra Mikhaleva, imposed a fine of four million rubles on Google for failure to comply with the requirements of Roskomnadzor. RIA Novosti reported this in court.

A protocol was drawn up against the company due to the refusal to remove from YouTube a video about Russian soldiers killed in the war in Ukraine (Part 4 of Article 19.7.10 of the Administrative Code).

In October, the arbitration court declared the Russian subsidiary of Google bankrupt. Since the spring of 2021, the corporation has been fined 28 times for refusing to remove content at the request of Roskomnadzor. Although, according to most protocols, the fine did not exceed several million rubles, in December 2021, due to refusal to remove “banned” links in search results, Google was fined 7.2 billion rubles. The amount was tied to the company's turnover in Russia.
