As the Investigative Committee added, Bykov was found guilty of organizing and instigating a murder by a group of people.
The investigation and the court established that in 1998 he ordered the leader of a criminal group to kill his potential competitor in the criminal environment, Filippov. Two killers, after several days of surveillance in June 1998, fired at least six fatal shots at the victim.
Previously, Bykov was convicted of organizing the murder of Alexander Naumov and Kirill Voitenko and inciting the murder for hire of Andrei Nekolov. The court handed down guilty verdicts against other participants in Filippov's murder in 2015.
Bykov, who headed the board of directors of the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant in the mid-1990s, was actively involved in politics and was elected as a deputy of the legislative assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This is not the first time he has had problems with the law: in 2000-2002, he was in jail on charges of organizing an assassination attempt and illegal weapons trafficking, as a result of which he received a suspended sentence.
