At the beginning of the 2023 winter season, Avito Auto experts analyzed the platform snowmobile market . According to research results for November, demand for new snowmobiles on Avito Auto increased by 27% compared to the same period last year. The seasonal jump in demand is also noticeable in relation to October 2023: in November, the purchase of this winter transport (new and used) on the platform was 44% and 67% more active, respectively. According to Avito Auto, the Moscow region leads among the regions of the Russian Federation in demand for used snowmobiles (6.7% of the total federal demand), and the Leningrad region leads in demand for new models (8.3%) in November 2023.

Supply dynamics and leading manufacturers over the year for new and used snowmobiles

The supply for used snowmobiles over the past year has increased by 74%, and the supply of new snowmobiles has increased by 219 %, mainly due to Russian-made snowmobiles.

Among the leading countries producing used snowmobiles on offer this year are Russia, Canada and the USA. The list of manufacturers of new snowmobiles includes Russia, China and Japan.

The most popular classes of snowmobiles

In November of this year, compared to October, there was a seasonal increase in demand for all categories of snowmobiles: the largest increase among children's snowmobiles in the used segment (+162%) and +92% for new models.

The most popular category among both used models and new snowmobiles remains utilitarian (they occupy more than half of the total demand for all classes of snowmobiles). The average cost of a used utilitarian snowmobile over the year decreased by 16% and amounted to 354,800 rubles, and the cost of a new one increased by 20% to 349,800 rubles.

In second place among used models is a sports snowmobile (with 16% of the market and an average cost of 700,000 rubles) and a motorized towing vehicle closes the top three (with 14% of the market and an average cost of 91,700 rubles).

Among new snowmobiles, the second most popular is a motorized towing vehicle (33% of the market and an average cost of 124,600 rubles) and a children's snowmobile in third place (with 5% from the market and an average cost of 56,700 rubles).

BRP continues to be the most popular used snowmobile brand in the country. Over the year, its cost increased by 44% and amounted to 1,265,000 rubles. In second place are snowmobiles from the Russian Mechanics RM company, the average cost is 350,000 rubles (no changes from last year). In third place is the Japanese company Yamaha with an average price of 800,000 rubles (+16% compared to last year).

In the top brands of new snowmobilesThe leaderboard is different. In first place is the Russian Mechanics RM company, the demand for its products is growing steadily (by 83% compared to 2022). Over the year, the average cost of such a snowmobile increased by 4.1% and amounted to 546,500 rubles. In second place are snowmobiles from Stels, whose average cost was 586,600 rubles. In third place is IKUDZO with an average price of 179,800 rubles (+13% compared to last year).

The top 10 regions with the highest demand for new models of snowmobiles and used ones this year also included Bashkortostan, Kemerovo and Sverdlovsk regions, Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.
