MOSCOW, December 12. Two families may be expelled from Russia for violating migration laws; the families attracted the attention of law enforcement agencies after an incident in St. Petersburg, where their children extinguished the Eternal Flame by throwing snow on it, the press service of the GUMVD for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region reported .
The incident occurred on December 10. The police received a report that three minors extinguished the Eternal Flame in Krasnoe Selo by covering it with snow. The police found that the incident involved two brothers, 10 and 14 years old, from one family and a 12-year-old boy from another, who threw a snowball into the Eternal Flame. All of them are citizens of neighboring countries.

“Police officers established that both families live in the territory of the Krasnoselsky district. During the inspection, it turned out that they live in the territory of the Russian Federation in violation of migration legislation. In this regard, the police are preparing materials for the court with a petition for the deportation of both families from the Russian Federation.” , — the message says.

Incident with the Eternal Flame in Saratov

The photographs themselves show how young people are sitting near the Eternal Flame covered with snow, and at the same time they do not behave within the generally accepted norms of behavior for being on the territory of memorials.

At the end of November, a court in Saratov found the girl, who in March filmed a video of spitting at the Eternal Flame on Teatralnaya Square in the city center, guilty of desecrating a mass grave and sentenced her to a fine of 30 thousand rubles. At the same time, the court took into account the pregnancy of the 20-year-old defendant.

Incident on Poklonnaya Hill

In mid-November, a 49-year-old man tried to put out the Eternal Flame and scattered wreaths laid in memory about those killed during the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow.

The attacker was detained, a case was opened against him under articles on the rehabilitation of Nazism and “damage to monuments, steles, obelisks, other memorial buildings or objects perpetuating memory of those who died defending the Fatherland or its interests during the Great Patriotic War.» As the Investigative Committee said, at the time of the incident he was intoxicated.
