The mayor of Troitsk in the Chelyabinsk region was detained on suspicion of taking a bribe, reports the regional department of the Investigative Committee. According to open data, the head of the city is called Alexander Vinogradov.
According to investigators, in the spring of 2020, the official received a bribe in the form of a treadmill worth 126 thousand rubles. In return, the mayor of Troitsk promised the director of an unnamed commercial company to speed up obtaining permission to construct a non-residential building.
A criminal case was opened against Vinogradov for taking a bribe (part 4 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code), a preventive measure has not yet been chosen for him. Other defendants were also charged with bribing an official (Part 3 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code) and mediation in bribery (Part 2 of Article 291.1 of the Criminal Code). The security forces conducted a search in the administration of Troitsk.
In 2021, a criminal case was opened against Vinogradov for abuse of office (Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code). The investigation believed that the head of the city illegally leased the property to the heating supply organization. In May 2023, the official was acquitted and an official apology was made to him on behalf of the state.
