Due to rising world gold prices , Russia's gold reserves reached a historical record of $151.9 billion, although the physical volume of reserves fell by about 16 tons. This follows from an analysis of Central Bank data conducted by RIA Novosti.
Russia's investments in gold rose by 2.2% in November to reach $151.9 billion, the highest level in modern history. The previous maximum was recorded in October and amounted to $148.7 billion.
However, the physical volume of gold reserves decreased for the second month in a row. In November, it decreased by about 16 tons and amounted to 2,315 tons.
Previously, the Central Bank reported that the country's international reserves grew by almost three percent in November and reached their highest level since April this year — 592.4 billion dollars.
