The 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced pensioner Nadezhda Kornilova to five years in prison in the case of setting fire to the door of a military registration and enlistment office in Komi. The press service of the court reported this to TASS.
The woman was charged with committing a terrorist attack (Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code). She confessed, saying that she acted on the instructions of people who introduced themselves to her over the phone as police and bank employees. According to investigators, they convinced the pensioner that there was a man in the building of the military registration and enlistment office in the city of Usinsk who was going to “steal her money.” To detain him, it was allegedly necessary to set the building on fire.
The woman was detained on April 11 immediately after she threw two Molotov cocktails at the door of the military registration and enlistment office. She filmed her actions on her phone camera and, as TASS writes, shouted “pro-Ukrainian slogans.”
