Moscow municipal deputy Alexei Gorinov, convicted under an article about military “fakes,” was hospitalized in a prison hospital in serious condition with a body temperature of 40 degrees. Gorinov's support group reports that the lawyer was able to visit him.
On December 15, the deputy’s associates said that they did not know where he was. On that day and the day before, December 14, the lawyer came to IK-2 Pokrova, but was unable to meet with his client. “Based on his own intuition and knowledge of the poor state of health” of the deputy, the lawyer visited several colonies in the region until he was finally able to see Gorinov in the IK-3 hospital in Vladimir.
“Now Alexey feels better and, according to the lawyer, looks much stronger,” says a message in Gorinov’s support group.
In the summer of 2022, Alexei Gorinov was sentenced to seven years in prison because of an anti-war speech at a meeting of municipal deputies of the Krasnoselsky district (clause “e” of part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). Later, a case was opened against the deputy for justifying terrorism (Part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) because of his conversations with cellmates about the Ukrainian Azov.
Gorinov’s associates have repeatedly reported that he is “in very bad condition health” due to lung disease. Doctors and more than 70 politicians from Russian regions made a request to hospitalize the deputy.
In February, the European Parliament condemned the cruel treatment of political prisoners in Russian colonies and, in particular, demanded the release of Alexei Gorinov.
