MOSCOW, January 14 Special Envoy of the President of the United States on climate issues, former Secretary of State John Kerry plans to resign and help in the election campaign of US President Joe Biden, reports the Axios portal, citing a source close to the American administration.

"Special Envoy of the US President for climate change John Kerry will leave the administration this winter and plans to help in President Biden’s election campaign,” the material says.

According to the portal’s interlocutor, 80-year-old John Kerry believes that Biden’s re-election is “the biggest ” change that can be made this year to achieve climate progress both in the United States and around the world.

In September, US Presidential Envoy for Climate Change John Kerry on the sidelines of the 78th UN General Assembly in New York said that the United States considers it important to maintain dialogue with Russia on the climate agenda.

The next US presidential elections will be held in November 2024.
