NOVOSIBIRSK, January 18Rospotrebnadzor in Novosibirsk is investigating a group illness of acute intestinal infection of local residents who bought rolls in one of the local catering establishments; the Investigation Committee also organized an inspection, as follows from a message on the department’s website.
«An epidemiological investigation is being carried out against the catering establishment in connection with the fact of registration of cases of group illness of acute intestinal infection among citizens who purchased food products (rolls) through the Harakiri delivery service, Russkaya Street, 1,” says the message from the Rospotrebnadzor department for the Novosibirsk region.
The department does not name the number of victims, but reports that to establish the source and causes of the disease, a set of sanitary and anti-epidemic measures has been organized, including laboratory tests of selected samples of ready-made dishes, raw materials, washouts from equipment and inventory, as well as material from enterprise employees catering and sick people.
«During the epidemiological investigation, violations of sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the organization of public catering for the population were established. An order was issued to carry out additional anti-epidemic measures. The enterprise has not been operating since January 15, 2024,» noted in management.
Meanwhile, the circumstances of food poisoning are also being established by investigators from the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Novosibirsk region.
«During the inspection, the investigation will have to find out all the circumstances and give a legal assessment of the activities of the establishment's management for the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers,» the SUSC statement says.
