MOSCOW, January 18 Moscow is unaware of Kazakhstan’s interest in joining to the Union State, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“To be honest, I have not heard of Kazakhstan showing any interest in joining the Union State,” the minister noted at the final press conference. Lavrov called the Union State “the flagship of the EAEU.”
The Agreement on the creation of the Union State of Russia and Belarus was signed on December 8, 1999. In December, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation reported that the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, together with the Ministry of Economy of Belarus, had prepared a new integration package of the Union State for 2024 — 2026. The new document consists of 11 sections and 120 tasks, the main part of which is devoted to integration issues: equal conditions and guarantees for companies, uniform rules of competition, protection of consumer rights, creating conditions for the creation of a unified transport and energy system. In addition, some of the issues of the new plan concern social and humanitarian partnership and are devoted to the formation of a common scientific, technological and information space between the countries of the Union State.
