MOSCOW, January 20 Danish companies that continue to operate in Russia are not going to leave, Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom Vladimir Barbin said in an interview.
«The Danish government is trying to force businesses to leave the Russian market. It is for these purposes that Copenhagen initiated the termination of the double taxation agreement. Those Danish companies that continue to operate in Russia are not going to leave. They consider our market as promising and profitable,” he said, answering the question whether the denunciation of the double taxation agreement could lead to the departure of Danish companies from the Russian market.
The double tax treaty between Russia and Denmark has been terminated since January 1, 2024. It was signed in February 1996.
Last year, Denmark notified the Russian Federation of the termination of the convention between states on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion in relation to taxes on income and property from January 1, 2024.
