In the Urals, two prisoners who returned from the war were sent to a pre-trial detention center on charges of attacking a woman

The Beloyarsky District Court of the Sverdlovsk Region arrested two former prisoners, Ivan Komarov and Roman Kalmykov, who returned from the war in Ukraine. This was reported by court representatives.

The police report said that Komarov and Kalmykov on the evening of January 24 attacked a 35-year-old woman and took away two mobile phones, a gold bracelet and money, and then disappeared. This happened in the village of Beloyarsky in the south of the region, 50 kilometers from Yekaterinburg.

According to E1.ru, the men were detained a few days later in Severouralsk, where Komarov’s mother lives — the city is located in the north of the region, almost 500 kilometers from Beloyarsky. Yesterday they were sent to a pre-trial detention center, both were charged with group robbery (Part 2 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code).

Both 34-year-old Komarov and 45-year-old Kalmykov were recruited to participate in the war in Ukraine in the ranks of the Wagner PMC. On social networks they published photos with T-shirts and mercenary flags.

In 2016, Komarov was sentenced to eight years in a special regime colony for entering an enterprise in Severouralsk with a gun, imprisoning a watchman and beating a witness. Kalmykov, who already had three previous convictions, was sentenced in 2017 to 16 years in a special regime colony in the case of the robbery and murder of an elderly woman.

According to Komarov’s mother Irina, he returned from the war in May 2023. “You know, since childhood he was a very kind boy, he didn’t even hurt girls. And when he saw that someone was offending them, he said: “You can’t do that,” the woman told E1.ru journalists.
