«»The technical problem with the global DNSSEC infrastructure that caused sites in the .ru zone to become unavailable has been resolved. DNS problems may continue for some time until updated data is distributed throughout the domain name system. We will continue to keep you updated on the situation «, the press service reported.
On Tuesday evening, users reported problems with websites in the .ru domain zone in Russia, according to data from the Downradar service. According to Downradar, the outage began around 19.30 Moscow time. The Ministry of Digital Development reported that access to sites in the .ru zone will be restored in the near future; a technical problem has arisen affecting the .ru zone associated with the global DNSSEC infrastructure.
Roskomnadzor recommended contacting the Technical Internet center to solve the problem. According to the regulator, providers and owners of autonomous systems using the resolution of the National Domain Name System are operating normally.
As RU-CENTER Information Technology Director Evgeniy Martynov explained to the agency, a failure in DNSSEC may be due to problems in verifying the key chain is a process that does not allow address spoofing at the level of individual domains and the entire zone. Due to these problems, the sites of those providers who do not check .ru domain zone records using DNSSEC may be unavailable for some time.
