The Oktyabrsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested an employee of the Kurchatov Institute, Dmitry Bogmut, in the case of military “fakes” (clause “e” of part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the press service of the city courts.
According to the investigation, from March 23 to June 21, 2023, Bogmut published anti-war materials “on a certain website” at his workplace at the Konstantinov St. Petersburg Institute of Nuclear Physics, which is part of the Kurchatov Institute. In particular, he is charged with a post with a video “Attack on Pavlograd, how Putin is preparing for a defensive war and undermining the combat effectiveness of the Russian army” by the German publication Deutsche Welle.
“This record, according to the examination, contains unreliable information about the goals and progress of the SVO,” writes the press service of the St. Petersburg courts.
The man asked to be prohibited from certain actions and objected to the arrest. On the website of the Konstantinov Institute of Nuclear Physics, Dmitry Bogmut is listed as a technician.
