Due to a dam break on the Ural River, Orsk authorities began evacuating city residents

In Orsk, Orenburg Region, a dam on the Ural River broke, city authorities began evacuating residents. TASS reports this with reference to operational services.

According to the agency, about four thousand houses may fall into the flood zone. Almost 11 thousand people live in them, according to local authorities. The Ural56.Ru publication writes that the governor of the Orenburg region Denis Pasler, the head of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Zenov and two Il-76 aircraft with rescuers arrived in the city.

Ural56.Ru journalists also clarify that there were two leaks at the dam, one of which was filled up. In some areas of the city, according to the publication, gas and electricity have been cut off. In addition, according to the publication, almost all the drinking water in Orsk has been sold out.
