The Chinese SUV will change its image and grow up. According to preliminary data, at the first stage the cross will be offered with a one and a half liter turbo engine, and later the range may be expanded.
The Changan CS75 SUV debuted back in 2013. It entered the second generation in 2019, receiving the Plus prefix to its name. Since then, in its homeland, the crossover with the “surname” has undergone several modernizations, and after the last two restylings in 2022 and 2023, the model was declared a new generation. However, only now has the truly new CS75 Plus been announced. On a global scale, this is a third-generation model, but in China such a crossover will be considered the “fourth” Plus. Well, let’s note that the very first CS75 (but also after several restylings) and the pre-reform Pluses are still sold on the domestic market.

So, the upcoming SUV will receive a more aggressive exterior design. Among the exterior features are intricate head optics consisting of vertical blocks and horizontal diode strips, a narrower frameless radiator grille with a clearly defined V-shaped element in the middle, retractable door handles and “pixelated” rear lights. The interior is not exposed yet.

The dimensions became known thanks to another leak from the Chinese Ministry of Industry: the certificate for the next Changan CS75 Plus appeared the day before. The length of the new crossover will be 4770 mm, width – 1910 mm, height – 1695 or 1705 mm (depending on the version), wheelbase – 2800 mm. The SUV will be offered with 18-, 19- or 20-inch wheels. For comparison, the dimensions of the previous “third” Plus for China: 4710/1865/1710 mm, the distance between the axles is 2710 mm.

It is expected that the new Changan CS75 Plus will be available with a petrol turbo engine producing 188 or 192 hp. There is no information about the boxes yet. The “Third” Plus in its homeland is today presented with 1.5 (188 hp) and 2.0 (233 hp) turbo engines, which are combined with a classic eight-speed Aisin automatic transmission. In addition, customers can choose a hybrid with iDD installation based on the 1.5T. In any case, the drive is only front-wheel drive. By the way, it is possible that the engine range of the fresh CS75 Plus will subsequently be expanded.

Full premiere of the new crossover generations will be held later this year. As for Russia, we now have one of the pre-reform versions of Changan CS75 Plus. The Russian SUV has a 1.5T (167 hp), 6 automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, the model is available in a single Luxury configuration, the recommended price is 2,849,900 rubles (excluding shares). If the new generation CS75 Plus reaches the Russian Federation, it is unlikely this year.
