The Kremlin announced Putin's visit to North Korea

MOSCOW, May 24. The Kremlin is preparing an official President Vladimir Putin's visit to the DPRK, said press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
«As you know, President Putin has a valid invitation to visit North Korea on an official visit. The visit is being prepared. We will inform the dates of such a trip in a timely manner,» the official said.

The last time Putin traveled to the DPRK was in 2000. Then he met in Pyongyang with the then current head of the republic, Kim Jong Il.

Last fall, the current leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, visited Russia. The visit lasted from September 12 to 17. During these days, he visited the Vostochny cosmodrome, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the Knevichi airfield in Primorye and Vladivostok.
At the same time, the head of the DPRK invited his Russian colleague to his country. As Peskov noted, Putin gratefully accepted this invitation.
Before this, Kim Jong-un came to Vladivostok in April 2019. This was the first meeting between the leaders of the two countries.
