MOSCOW, June 12 A group of LDPR deputies in led by party leader Leonid Slutsky sent a package of bills introducing increased criminal and administrative liability for domestic violence and slander about it to the Cabinet of Ministers for review; the documents are available.
«The bill proposes changes that provide for increased liability in the event of committing crimes related to violent acts of various nature in relation to a spouse, parent, child (children), adoptive parent, adopted person, a person with whom the perpetrator has a common child ( children),” says the explanatory note to the bill.
It is proposed to establish increased criminal liability for family members for murder, incitement to suicide, systematic torture, threat of murder and extortion against each other, while administrative liability is proposed to be introduced for insult and beatings.
The bill also proposes to introduce criminal liability for libel about domestic violence or the threat of it, with punishment in the form of a fine of up to 1 million rubles or compulsory labor of up to 240 hours.
In relation to officials, the bill also provides for the introduction of administrative liability for violation of the procedure for receiving applications and reports of domestic violence, violation of the procedure for isolating the object of violent acts, violation of the procedure for registering persons found guilty of committing or threatening to commit domestic violence.< br>
