A Russian swimmer who changed her citizenship qualified for the Olympics

MOSCOW, June 17 Swimmer Anastasia Kirpichnikova representing the French national team, who is a native of Asbestos, has fulfilled the Olympic standard to participate in the 2024 Summer Games in Paris.
Kirpichnikova became the French champion in the 400-meter freestyle with a result of 4 minutes 6.87 seconds and fulfilled the Olympic standard required to qualify for the Olympics (4 minutes 7.90 seconds).
Kirpichnikova is 23 years old. In March 2024, the IOC Executive Committee approved the swimmer’s application to change her sports citizenship. In 2021, as part of the Russian national team, she won three gold medals at the European Short Course Championships in Kazan. She is also a silver medalist at the 2021 World Short Course Championships in Abu Dhabi. In December 2023, as a member of the French team, she won two gold medals at the European Championships in the 25-meter pool in Romania.
