MOSCOW, June 17 Director of the Chamber Stage named after B.A. Pokrovsky Bolshoi Theater Valery Fedorenko passed away at the age of 62, according to the Bolshoi Theater Telegram channel.
«On June 17, at the 62nd year of his life, Valery Borisovich Fedorenko (12/06/1962 – 06/17/2024), director of the B. A. Pokrovsky Chamber Stage, suddenly died. We express our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” it says message.
The date and place of the farewell will be announced later, the Bolshoi Theater added.
Fedorenko graduated from the Astrakhan State Conservatory. Later he studied at GITIS at the Faculty of Musical Theater. Since 1996 he has been an opera soloist (bass), and since 2011 he has been the director of the Chamber Stage named after B.A. Pokrovsky Bolshoi Theater. From 2016 to 2024, Fedorenko was the musical director of the Moscow Provincial Theater.
