Thus, according to Chinese statistics, in April Beijing purchased $953 worth of pork from Moscow. And already in May, deliveries exceeded the amount of 676 thousand dollars. In total, over two months, import volumes amounted to 677 thousand dollars.
In September 2023, the Chinese side lifted the restrictions on African swine fever that had been in force for Russia since 2008. At the end of February 2024, the Chinese competent authority certified three Russian enterprises for the supply of pork from Russia to China, and on March 7, Rosselkhoznadzor controlled the shipment of the first batch of Russian-made pork by-products. Next, the Fesco transport group reported that the total delivery time of the first batch of Russian pork to China will be about 35 days, and arrival is expected on April 11.
