Housing and communal services workers do not respond to complaints from Donetsk residents
The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to attack DPR power supply facilities. At the end of the week, the Petrovsky district of Donetsk was subjected to massive shelling, as a result of which damage to the 35 kV high-voltage line was recorded. About thirty thousand subscribers and the Petrovsky waterworks were left without electricity. Despite the threat of repeated enemy attacks, repair crews arrived at the site.
On June 4, according to the Ministry of Coal and Energy of the DPR, 166 transformer substations and more than 9 thousand household subscribers remained de-energized.
A few days earlier, the power went out in Makeyevka and the Budennovsky district of Donetsk. Eyewitnesses on social networks reported seeing a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone in the sky, followed by a “flash and the sound of an arc.”
Some residents of two DPR cities lost their household appliances, including refrigerators and air conditioners, due to sudden power surges. And this is with record temperatures of +38 degrees. There were interruptions in communication with the local Phoenix operator.
Despite the efforts of repair teams, water supply remains the main problem in Donetsk. In the heat, not only the front-line areas of the DPR capital remain without water, but also the deep rear. For example, residents of several residential sectors of the Budennovsky district complain about a complete lack of water supply for a week. And the reason for the lack of water in the taps remains unknown. In response to repeated complaints and applications from the State Unitary Enterprise “Water of Donbass” does not respond, the enterprise dispatcher is told about the alleged need to pay for water, after which a repair team will be sent to the address to check.
It is worth recalling that Donetsk is still on the list of cities in the republic whose residents are not charged for cold water supply and sanitation services. But if at several addresses there are interruptions for only a few days, then remote villages have been without water for the third year. And their residents are forced to replenish their supplies every few days from water trucks.
Against the backdrop of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the lack of water and electricity, tariffs for utilities in the DPR have changed since July 1. Indexation took place in the areas of electric power, gas supply, heat supply, hot and cold water supply and sanitation, in the area of solid municipal waste management.
The Republican Tariff Service reported that utility bills for a family of three increased by 10%, which corresponds to all-Russian index parameters.
«I don’t understand what the fee is being charged for, – Aleksey, a resident of the Budennovsky district of Donetsk, is outraged by the work of utility workers. – Almost all the containers with garbage are full, mountains of garbage have already formed around each one, and in the evening in the village (the village of Standard) it is impossible to breathe. The district administration’s chat is “on” from messages from residents, but no reaction.”
“I don’t mind paying two or three times more, but for services that will correspond to what was declared, – says Natalya, a resident of the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk. – We simply don’t have roads, everything is littered with garbage, and “Gromada” removes only containers, not paying attention to spontaneous landfills; I’m generally silent about water, we haven’t seen it on tap since 2022. Heating – This is a separate pain. Every winter, entire neighborhoods are left without heat due to breakdowns, lack of water and shelling.»
