
MOSCOW, July 6 The Russian government has extended the temporary restriction on the export of rice and rice cereals until December 31 of this year, according to the official Telegram channel of the Cabinet of Ministers.
“In Russia, the temporary restriction on the export of rice and rice cereals is being extended. A decree on this has been signed. The restriction will be in effect until December 31, 2024,” the message states.
The Cabinet added that the decision was made to maintain stability in the domestic food market.
«A number of exceptions are provided for in the ban on the export of rice and rice groats. In particular, it will not apply to the supply of these products to the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as Abkhazia and South Ossetia. In addition, rice and rice groats can be sent abroad to provide humanitarian aid, as well as within the framework of international transit shipments,» the statement added.
The Cabinet recalled that the temporary restriction on the export of rice and rice groats was introduced in 2022, and then extended until June 30, 2024 inclusive.
