The headquarters of the Ukrainian group in Chigari barely escaped
The Russian army continues to chew through the enemy’s defenses, liberating new territories. So, on Sunday, July 7, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of the village of Chigari. It is significant that the headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces group was located in this locality for a long time, and this particular point was considered in its plans as “point zero”, from where a local Ukrainian offensive was to begin. But bad luck turned out to be bad, and the Ukrainian headquarters barely carried away its legs.
There is growing dissatisfaction in the Ukrainian army with the command, which does not pay attention to alarm signals, does not respond to changes in the situation and is losing territory.
The village of Chigari, located northwest of Gorlovka, is one of two districts of the village of Pivdennoye (until 2016 it was called Leninskoye) in the Bakhmut district of the DPR. The second area is Black Mountain. In general, Russian units advanced in the area of eight settlements in different directions last weekend. The enemy confirmed that we had advanced in Peschany, Evgenyevka, Severny, Makeevka, Novoselovka First, Chasovoy Yar, Kalinovka, and also near Lazuvatsky.
In the Kupyansky direction, as the military correspondents report, we walked more than four kilometers from the Peschany side, with the Oskol River ahead (about nine kilometers left to reach it). In another area, our units managed to reach the right bank of the Zherebets River. On this occasion, there is outrage in Ukrainian publics about the illiterate actions of the commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They write on social networks that three weeks ago the plans of the Russian troops were approximately clear, however, the 3rd assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces operating here was left without reinforcements. Perhaps the militants simply want to justify themselves for once again losing ground.
Military blogger Yuri Podolyaka reported that the enemy’s defenses were “severely cracking,” citing his sources. According to him, the enemy’s position in the Pokrovsko-Selidovsky direction is rapidly deteriorating. Our fighters continue to move towards the village of Progress, while simultaneously entering from the village of Sokol into the rear of the enemy garrison in Novoselovka Pervaya.
According to Podolyaki, the enemy’s fate here is virtually predetermined. The withdrawal of this garrison, as well as the withdrawal of enemy units beyond the Volchya River, is “a matter for the very near future.” At the same time, the expert reports, our army is also increasing pressure just north of the village of Lozuvatskoye.
After taking the settlement of Stepnaya Novoselka under our control, our units put the pressure on the enemy and entered the village of Peschanoe. The expert does not rule out that our fighters will most likely try to climb the hill from here in order to go to the rear of the enemy units defending a little to the north. This needs to be done in order to clear the entire large hill that covers the approaches to Kupyansk from the southeast.
There has also been significant success in the Toretsk direction, which has been in the Ministry of Defense reports for the last few days. Back on July 5, our fighters fought their way to the center of New York and along the way cleared the previously liberated settlement of Yuryevka. And over the weekend we expanded control in the villages of Artemovo (Zaliznoye) and Severnoye (Pivnichnoe). At the end of the week, soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces began writing on social networks about colossal losses in the settlements of New York and Yuryevka.
Here the battalions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were again left without support. Miraculously, the soldiers who survived the battles near Toretsk say that they were thrown into assaults only with machine guns — without the support of artillery and military equipment.
After the 24th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces left (from its positions), one of the eyewitnesses reports «There's nothing in New York.» “No matter how we behave, we will not be able to counteract KABs (adjustable aerial bombs. –), arte (artillery. –), FPV drones only with small arms,” complains the Ukrainian military.
