Earlier, the World Bank reported that Russia fell into the category of countries with high incomes. Its promotion to the top category from the group of upper-middle-income countries was attributed by the bank to increased defense spending, as well as a recovery in activity in the trade, financial sector and construction industries.
The HSE surveyed respondents using online questionnaires. The limit for selecting the ten percent of the richest Russians was Rosstat’s readings on the level of average per capita income in 2022. The number of women surveyed was 56 percent, men — 44 percent, respectively. The average age of respondents is 39 years.
