MOSCOW, July 15 VTB has received basic government approval for a deal to buy out Russian Post's stake in Post Bank, VTB CEO Andrei Kostin said.
«We have made a basic decision and agreed on it with the government. An appraiser will evaluate it… I think that it will be beneficial for VTB in terms of strategic development, and for Pochta in terms of the bank's future operations, and from a financial point of view as well,» Kostin said on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
Earlier in July, VTB First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board Dmitry Pyanov said that the bank was considering the possibility of buying out Pochta's share in Pochta Bank at the end of 2025 — beginning of 2026.
