
THE HAGUE, July 19 The International Court of Justice believes that the settlement Israel's activities in the Palestinian territories violate international law, court President Nawaf Salam said on Friday.
As the presiding judge noted at the beginning of the hearing, the UN court concluded that it has jurisdiction to issue an advisory opinion on the legal consequences of Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories. In addition, the court has sufficient information on this issue.

“Israel’s settlement policy does not comply with its obligations under international law,” Salam said at the court hearing on Friday.
In The International Court of Justice in The Hague held hearings on February 19-26 on the legal consequences of Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem. During the meetings, more than 50 states and three international organizations spoke — the League of Arab States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the African Union.
The Palestinian delegation called on the court to declare Israel's occupation of its territories illegal, as this may be the last hope to create two states.
