MOSCOW, July 18 Presidential Press Secretary Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the idea of the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen regarding a defense union in the EU, said that this confirms the general mood of European states towards confrontation and escalating tension.
Previously, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, if re-elected for a second term in this post until 2029, promised to turn the European Union into a defense one.
“This confirms, once again confirms, the general mood of European states towards militarization, towards escalating tension, towards confrontation and towards relying on confrontational methods in their foreign policy. Everything here is quite obvious,” Peskov told reporters when asked how The Kremlin reacted to the statement of the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
