Former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the nationalist party “Svoboda” Irina Farion died in hospital after an assassination attempt. UNIAN reports this.
This evening in Lviv there was an attempt on Farion’s life.
“There was a shot in the temple. Neighbors saw the shooter, he was wearing gloves and the weapon was without a silencer,” journalist Marta Oliyarnik wrote on her Facebook.
Ukrainian publications reported that a 20-25 year old man shot at Farion. Lviv regional police announced an operation to capture the shooter. It “involves employees of all services and divisions of the Lviv region police.”
Irina Farion is a Doctor of Philology, was a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada in 2012-2014. She advocated a complete abandonment of the use of the Russian language in Ukraine.
