Israeli Air Force strikes Lebanon
Israeli Air Force strikes south Lebanon, a series of explosions occurred, the Lebanese NNA news agency reports.
The explosions were reportedly related to hits on ammunition depots. Three civilians in the city of Haraib were injured in the explosions. They were taken to hospitals with minor injuries. Also on Saturday, Israel struck the Houthi port of Hodeida in Yemen.
Earlier, Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that Israel is ready to launch an offensive in Lebanon at any time. Speaking to reservists, Galant noted that only a small part of the Israeli army is currently involved in hostilities, but stressed that the situation could change instantly — «from the main attack in the south to the main attack in the north.» According to Galant, due to the hostile actions of the Hezbollah movement from Lebanon, a conflict could arise «quickly, unexpectedly and extremely acutely,» but Israel is ready for dialogue. The Israeli Defense Minister called on Hezbollah to withdraw from the border and move to areas beyond the Litani River, in accordance with a UN resolution.
On the night of July 15, Israeli artillery shelled a thermal power plant in the southern Lebanese town of Marjayoun. According to the power company Électricité du Liban, the power plant stopped working after the attack, which caused serious damage.
