SAMARA, July 20Three people are in moderate condition, two are in serious condition after a collision between a passenger ship and a motor boat near Samara, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Samara Region reported.
Earlier, the regional main department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that at 15.00 Moscow time they received a message about an incident on the Volga River near Samara. According to them, the Valdai passenger ship and a light motor boat collided in the area of the Chaika recreation center in the Krasnoglinsky district.
“As a result of the incident, five people were injured. They were hospitalized, are under the supervision of medical workers, and are receiving the necessary medical care. The condition of three victims is assessed as moderate, two are in serious condition,” the regional Ministry of Health reported.
Investigators are checking the actions of river drivers for signs of a crime under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of water transport), the Central Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported in its Telegram- channel. The circumstances of the incident are also being established by the Kuibyshev Transport Prosecutor's Office, the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office noted in its Telegram channel.
